The STONIRA Care Guide: Preservation of Beauty
Your STONIRA jewelry is a blend of traditional artistry and modern materials. To ensure your pieces remain as radiant as the day you received them, follow these simple care steps.
1. The Golden Rule: “Last On, First Off”
Jewelry should always be the final touch to your look.
- Avoid Chemicals: Apply perfumes, hairsprays, lotions, and makeup before putting on your jewelry. Chemicals found in these products can dull the luster of pearls and erode the finish on metal.
- Remove First: Always remove your jewelry before undressing to avoid snagging on fabrics.
2. Material-Specific Care
For Baroque Pearls & Stones
- Handle with Love: Real pearls are organic and porous. Wipe them gently with a soft, lint-free cloth after each wear to remove skin oils.
- No Water: Never submerge your pearl pieces in water or use ultrasonic cleaners, as this can damage the nacre (the outer glow).
For Stainless Steel & Oxidised Pieces
- Moisture Control: While stainless steel is highly durable, keeping it dry helps preserve the “oxidised” (darkened) patina. Remove jewelry before showering, swimming, or exercising.
- Cleaning: If needed, use a dry, soft microfiber cloth to buff the surface. Avoid abrasive jewelry cleaners or polishing cloths treated with chemicals.
For Enamel & Kundan-Polki Fusion
- Impact Protection: Enamel and glass stones can chip if dropped on hard surfaces. Store these pieces in a padded box.
- Dry Wipe Only: Clean only with a dry cloth to prevent moisture from getting trapped behind the stone settings.
3. Storage is Key
- Individual Compartments: Store pieces separately in soft pouches or a lined jewelry box to prevent scratching and tangling—especially for our Waterfall Chain designs.
- Cool & Dry: Keep your collection away from direct sunlight and humid areas (like bathrooms).
A Note on Our Craftsmanship
“Small variations in texture, color, and pearl shape are not flaws; they are the fingerprints of the artisan and the natural world. These nuances ensure that your STONIRA piece is as unique as your own story.”
